Health Insurance and Immunizations

As of August 7, 2016, each student has the responsibility to set up his/her own insurance. You have a choice in the insurance you buy and this will likely save you money. Cameron University employees are not permitted to provide students with advice regarding the selection or purchase of individual health insurance. Health insurance provider information is provided as a courtesy and such provision in no way constitutes an endorsement or sanction of services provided by any insurance company.

One of the companies mentioned above has put together a video about healthcare in the USA.

Remember, Oklahoma Statutes, Title 70 §3244, requires that all students enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in an Oklahoma public or private post-secondary institution provide documentation of vaccinations against Hepatitis B and MMR. The series of Hepatitis B takes six months to complete. After the first immunization, it is required to wait one month before taking the second. You must wait another five months before taking the final one. The MMR immunization is given one month apart.

Please note that immunizations may not be covered under the health insurance you choose.

Passport Health will have an immunization clinic from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Wichita Room in the Shepler Center on:

  • Friday, September 21, 2018

The immunization clinic will accept cash or credit card only.  Students who are unable to attend the immunization clinic will be responsible for obtaining the required immunization/blood test on their own.

Below are the costs for the immunizations:

Quantiferon Gold TB Test - $110.00 - This is required for all F-1 students in order to enroll for future semesters at Cameron University.

Hepatitis B - $95.00 (per dose)

MMR - $110.00 (per dose)

Meningococcal -  $135.00 (optional)
