What is Service-Learning?
Service-learning is a pedagogical method that incorporates both learning objectives and service requirements into a project that ultimately benefits the students and the community. Students collaborate with a community agency, nonprofit organization, or school on a project that not only requires the students to apply the skills and theories learned in class but also to incorporate formal assignments designed to facilitate student reflection on the importance and professional relevance of civic engagement.
