Lawton is served by American Airlines by flying through Dallas. Transportation to and from the Lawton airport will be provided. Detailed flight information must be submitted by phone, mail or fax. If you call in, we suggest that you follow-up by mail or fax.
Some students have been able to save money by flying into Oklahoma City and paying Airport Express to drive the students to Lawton to the Cameron Dorm. Airport Express will return to Lawton at the end of camp and take students back to the airport. The distance from Oklahoma City to Lawton is about 75 miles.
You will be receiving T-shirts at registration. We can only give the size that you requested on the camp registration form. Keep in mind that some shrinkage may occur.
Teachers will have an opportunity to swap ideas during the workshop. All of the teachers have an opportunity to eat together throughout the workshop and share ideas.
There are scheduled sessions for teachers in the Centennial Dining Room. Teachers should enroll in one division of the camp to receive all the handouts and materials for that division. We will have the Fine Arts Computer Lab and the Burch Hall Computer Lab for camp use. The lab holds computers with internet access and word processing.
Some teachers have signed up for a free room by agreeing to help coach students in the breakout sessions in one-on-one coaching or judging practice debate rounds and helping us supervise the evening activities and checking on dorm rooms. Niki Alderson coordinates the activities for the teacher sessions, please feel free to contact her further details or special needs.
All activities are closely supervised. Campers are housed in Shepler Center with camp staff assigned to rooms on the same floors with the students. Room checks by camp staff members take place at 11:00 p.m. each night. See the camp rules page for further information.
