IE students should bring:

The IE division offer lectures, demonstrations, and individual coaching. Advanced IE students are required to bring 2 or 3 new contest selections, cut to time, and memorized. Beginning IE students are encouraged to bring contest selections, but there will be help during camp. The Beginning IE Division is limited to students with one year or less of tournament experience. The IE tournament will be held Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19.

Lincoln-Douglas
Debate students should bring:
LD topics for camp will be announced in the Confirmation Packet.
Beginning LD: Little (less than one year) or no competitive debate experience. Emphasizes basic skills. Students do not have to bring case to camp. (We recommend that students who are coming to camp for both weeks, NOT take Beginning LD in Camp I and Intermediate LD in Camp II unless they have competed for nearly a year.)
Intermediate LD: No less than one year of competitive debate experience. Emphasizes philosophy, skill drills, and practice rounds. Students should come to camp with cases.
Advanced LD: The Advanced LC Division is only offered in Camp Session II. This division is helpful to debaters who will serve as leaders on their team. Emphasizes affirmative and negative winning strategies and tactics. Students should come to camp with Aff and Neg cases on the camp topic and be prepared to debate on the first day. Activities will include practice rounds, analysis and research of all ten prospective 2013-2014 NFL LD topics.

The 2013-2014 NFL national topic (also used by UIL) will be the camp
CX topic. The topic wording will be included in the Confirmation Packet.
Beginning CX: Little (less than one year) or no competitive debate experience. Emphasizes basic CX theory and skills. Students do not have to bring case to camp.
Intermediate CX: No less than one year of competitive debate experience. Emphasizes debate theory and practice to move beyond the novice levela balance of instruction, hands-on argument construction and debate practice. Students do not have to bring case to camp.
Advanced CX: No less than one year of competitive debate experience. Emphasizes research, case construction, and advanced negative position construction. Students do not have to bring case to camp.
NOTE: Any CX debater that comes to camp as a single will be paired with another student by the coordinator in that division.
