Dr. Syed Mushtaque Ahmed is
a Professor of Economics and Director of the
Business
Research
Center. Dr. Ahmed earned his
bachelor's degree in economics from
University
of
Dhaka
, master's degrees in Economics from
University
of
Dhaka
and
University
of
Manitoba
and a Ph.D. in Economics from
Simon
Fraser
University.
He previously taught at Red Deer
College, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; Bethany College, Lindsborg,
Kansas;
University
of
Victoria, Victoria, B.C., Canada;
and the
University
of
Dhaka.
He has published articles in numerous refereed journals
including, Applied Economics, Journal of Asian Economics,
International Trade Journal, Journal of international
Economics and Integration, Journal of Developing Areas,
Canadian Journal of administrative Sciences, Canadian
Journal of Development Studies, Indian Economic Journal,
Asian Profile, Journal of Economic Development,
Canadian Journal of Development Studies, International Journal of
Economics and Econometrics, International Journal of Economic
Research and Bangladesh Development Studies. He
co-authored an instructor's manual for a popular Canadian Money and
Banking Text. Currently he
is working on issues in international financial integration and
financial sector reform in developing economies.
